Defending champions Kaizer Chiefs held their nerve to beat Stellenbosch FC 3-2 while Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns picked up first wins in the DStv Diski Challenge.
Neo Bohloko, Pheko Phago and Matala Makhubo got on the scoresheet for the young Glamour Boys who picked up their second win on the trot. Tauric Gamildien netted a brace for the hosts.
Pirates registered their first win of the season, beating renamed Siwelele 1-0. A late goal from Mpho Padime secured the much-needed three points following their 3-3 draw in the opening match of the season against Durban City.
TS Galaxy narrowly beat Daine Klate’s Durban City 1-0 as City remain winless after two games while the Rockets grabbed their first win.
AmaZulu bounced back to winning ways after being hammered 4-1 in their last tie, coming from a goal down to beat Sekhukhune United 2-1.
Richards Bay beat 10-men Magesi FC 1-0 to make it back-to-back wins with Sanele Simelane scoring the only goal in the first period.
There was a big win for Sundowns who rallied from a goal down to beat Marumo Gallants 3-1. Tshiamo Masisi converted from the penalty spot, with Ntokozo Siquba scoring the second and Gomolemo Kekana putting the nail in the coffin.
