Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine believes the club sent a powerful message out there after clinching a historic fourth consecutive MTN8 title this past weekend.
The Buccaneers secured their first piece of silverware for the season with a 3-0 triumph over Stellenbosch at a packed Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.

This victory marked the first trophy for new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who found himself under early pressure following an inconsistent beginning to his tenure.
While their MTN8 journey began perfectly with a 2-0 quarterfinal win over Polokwane City, subsequent Betway Premiership losses to Sekhukhune United and Marumo Gallants raised concerns among the Pirates fanbase.
Chaine feels their success in the MTN8 sends a clear message about the team’s quality, proving what the new-look squad is capable of even while still gelling.
“This is a new team that we have assembled this season, starting from scratch with a lot of new players,” said Chaine.
“I’m happy that we can come together very early in a competition that we have won a couple of times.
“And to do it again in such a short space of time, it tells a lot about what we’re going to do as a group, as a new team if I may say.”
