Mamelodi Sundowns‘ latest increased bid for Matheusinho has been turned down, as Sport Recife are seemingly not ready to let the player go.
Matheusinho is currently on loan at a Brazilian side Sport Recife from Portuguese side Santa Clara with the 27-year-old recently joining Recife on loan with an obligation to make the deal permanent.
Latest reports from NE45 are that Sundowns submitted an increased offer of €1.7 million (R34.6 million) after the last bid of €1.5 million (R30 million) was rejected.
According to NE45, the €1.7 million (R34.6 million) has been rejected as Recife are not ready to entertain offers for the 27-year-old midfielder. Time is also not on Sundowns’ side with the South African transfer window closing in six days’ time.
This could be the end of it with Recife aiming to keep Matheusinho to help them survive relegation. They are currently sitting bottom of the Brasileirao Betano with 11 points, 12 points behind safety after 21 games.
