Pirates Give Injury Update Ahead Of Siwelele

Orlando Pirates have confirmed that the club are still awaiting the return of Deano van Rooyen, while Selaelo Rasebotja and Thabiso Sesane are in a recovery process ahead of their Betway Premiership match at Siwelele FC.

The newly-formed club welcome the Buccaneers, who have wrapped up five straight wins across all competitions, while Siwelele have only collected one point in their last six league games.

There has been chaos behind the scenes at Siwelele, with CEO Stan Matthews and assistant coach Andre Arendse leaving, while they also raised eyebrows after being the only club to not send a player to the Carling Cup launch on Monday.

Meanwhile, Pirates will hope to add more misery to the home side and continue climb up the log. However, they will still be without three key players at Free State Stadium on Tuesday.

“They recently welcomed club skipper Nkosinathi Sibisi back from injury and await the return of Deano van Rooyen, while Selaelo Rasebotja and Thabiso Sesane are also recovering from injuries that have kept them out of action during the early stages of the campaign,” the club stated.

Assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi, though, insisted the only mandate for the club are three points.

“It’s another opportunity for our team to battle for three points,” he told Pirates’ media team.

“Tough opponent, very unique – they can play three at the back, they can play four. One of the teams, according to stats, that are very crossing, maybe the history of the previous club.

“Having said that, Pirates is here to battle and get three points. That’s the only mandate we have.”

The match kicks off at 19:30 at Free State Stadium this evening.
