Mamelodi Sundowns will face Nigerian side Remo Stars in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
Last year’s runners-up had a bye in the first preliminary round due to their high CAF ranking, but will enter the competition in the second preliminary round.
The winners will then qualify for the group stages, with Sundowns set to face Remo Stars after they hammered US Zilimadjou of Comoros 5-0 on aggregate.
After winning the first leg 4-0 at home, Remo Stars collected a 1-0 win away from home on Friday to book their spot in the second round.
Sundowns will travel to Nigeria on 18 October before hosting the Nigeria Premier League winners on 25 October at home, per Soccerway.
For now, Masandawana’s focus will remain on the Betway Premiership where they will try to return to winning ways when they will host Richards Bay on Saturday evening.
