Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has hailed Tshegofatso Mabasa as a player with a ‘fantastic spirit’ after he racked up his 50th Buccaneers goal.
The Soweto giants ran out convincing 2-0 victors over TS Galaxy eSgodini on Tuesday night as they moved third on the Betway Premiership standings.
‘The Sniper’ became the talk of the evening as he came off the bench with Pirates leading 1-0 to head home a 93rd-minute winner from close range with Ouaddou expressing his delight for the marksman.
“Yeah, I’m happy for Mabasa. Fantastic spirit,” he told SuperSport TV.
“Like I told you, fantastic boys in the dressroom. Very united, very good team spirit and about the management of the players.
“I think it’s normal for such a big club when you have such talent players you need to think about the rotation and try to give time for every players and to be involved in the project.
“Very important.”
His goal on Tuesday night meant he now trails the club’s all-time top goalscorer Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi by just eight goals.
