Golden Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi says Siyanda Ndlovu deserves far more credit for his recent run of impressive displays than what he’s been getting.
The 22-year-old delivered another spectacular performance on Saturday, helping Abafana Bes’thende defeat Babina Noko 3-1 in the Carling Knockout Cup at King Zwelithini Stadium.

Ndlovu set up the second goal, providing an assist to the club’s right-winger Ayabulela Maxwele.
Mngqithi felt that Ndlovu was unfairly overlooked for the Man of the Match honour, which was ultimately claimed by Bradley Grobler, walking away with R100 000 prize.
“I was so surprised when I saw Grobler being the man of the match because in my opinion, I think Ndlovu was exceptional today,” said Mngqithi.
“In my opinion, that boy deserves more credit than what we see because he’s consistent for a young boy like him.
“He’s been forever influential in every game that we have played this season. I really want to give so much credit to the boy, in as much as I believe most of them are growing the way I want them to grow.”
After going through to the next round, coach Mngqithi downplayed talk of winning the Carling Knockout Cup, stating his primary focus remains on improving the team.
“I’d be lying if I say I’m focusing on that [winning the cup] with this team,” he added.
“I’m still nursing the process; I’m still nursing the setbacks that may come and make sure that the process goes according to the plan.”
