SA Star Wins MOTM Accolade After Scoring Brace in USA

South African midfielder Jamie Webber was the star of the show when his side FC Tulsa picked up a 3-0 league victory on Sunday.

Webber netted twice, first scoring from a free kick in the first half and then striking again outside the box in the second half to seal the victory.

He was ultimately given the Man of the Match accolade after being the most influential player on the game, leading his side to collect three points at home.

After the match, Webber revealed that his coaches had been encouraging him to shoot more often, an advice he took and executed perfectly to net a brace.

“First of all, thanks to my coaches. They were always backing me, telling me to shoot, just shoot on target and I will score,” said Webber as per FC Tulsa website.

“Tonight, I did exactly that—shot on target, scored two goals—and I’m very happy and proud.”

Moreover, Webber’s first strike—a stunning free-kick—was subsequently nominated for USL Championship Goal of the Week.
