Amakhosi are in the Democratic Republic of Congo where they are expected to receive hostility in Lubumbashi for their second preliminary round first leg qualification clash at Stade TP Mazembe.
The club has since confirmed that despite efforts to air the match, they were not successful in that attempt.
“Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup clash between AS Simba and Kaizer Chiefs in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, will unfortunately not be broadcast live on TV. The hosts were unable to secure broadcast rights with local broadcasters, which affects the availability of the feed.
“As the visiting team, Chiefs rely on the host broadcaster’s feed to relay the match to our partners in South Africa, as was done in the previous round in Angola. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience, but this matter is beyond our control.
“We will, however, endeavour to keep our supporters updated throughout the match via our official digital platforms – Facebook, X (Twitter) and Instagram,” the club said.
The return leg is set for Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday, 26 October.
