Orlando Pirates beat Stellenbosch FC to make it six wins in a row, while Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Lamontville Golden Arrows to keep up with the DStv Diski Challenge leaders.
The Buccaneers extended their winning streak to six games after they comfortably beat Stellenbosch. The Sea Robbers opened the scoring inside the 1st minute already and within the blink of an eye, they made it 2-0 and went to the break with a comfortable lead.
Pirates made sure they secured the three points after netting their third goal in the second stanza to defeat the 2023/24 DDC winners.
Sundowns managed to keep up with Pirates as they beat Arrows in a five-goal thriller. Downs scored within six minutes and doubled the lead through Thapelo Maseko 23 minutes later. After 30 minutes, they extended the lead to 3-0, giving Arrows a lot to think about going into the break.
And Abafana Bes’thende pulled two goals back after the break but it was too little too late as Downs claimed all three points.
Chippa United shocked Sekhukhune United beating them 2-1 after scoring in the first and 12th minute.
