AmaZulu FC coach Arthur Zwane has explained how the DStv Diski Challenge contributed to Bafana Bafana’s FIFA World Cup qualification.
South Africa earned a spot in the global tournament set to be held in the USA, Mexico and Canada next year.

Zwane says this is arguably South Africa’s youngest-ever squad to qualify for the World Cup with many of the players in the Hugo Broos’ team having taken part in the DDC.
‘10111’ credits the PSL for strengthening the reserve league, which has successfully produced numerous players who have since represented the national team.
“I think this is the [SA] youngest squad ever to qualify for the World Cup,” said Zwane.
“We should be proud as a nation and also thank the coach for giving the youngsters a chance.
“Probably in the national team right now, 80% of the players played in the DDC. It started from the MDC, then DDC. We need to give PSL the credit of making sure that our reserve league is strong.
“A lot of people deserve credit, DStv deserves credit and also everyone who played a role in making sure that those players are produced.
“Also we as coaches started there, we’re growing today after being given an opportunity there. DDC does a lot for this country.”
