Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has revealed his most important wish for Orlando Pirates defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi.
The young centre-back, Mbokazi has quickly established himself as a key player for Bafana since making his debut in the international friendly match against Mozambique in June.
He played a major role in the last two camps, contributing significantly to Bafana’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Broos, who consistently praises the 20-year-old, hopes that if an opportunity to move abroad arises, Mbokazi will be surrounded by people who can guide him toward making the right decisions.
The Belgian coach hopes Mbokazi prioritises joining the right team over making a decision solely inspired by financial gain.
“We have spoken before about players that must go to Europe that the most important thing is to choose the right club and not the money,” said Broos.
“It’s important…I see Mbokazi, I pray to God because it’s impossible that next season he will be playing in South Africa.
“I pray to God that he’s surrounded by people who think and who don’t think about [the logo] of the club because he will choose the wrong things.
“And his career then never be what is expected to be when you look at his talent. So, this is very important that it happens.
“If he makes the right choice and he’s abroad, you will see what he will become. He will be a very good player; you can be sure of that. And there are others, but the choice is very important.”
