The two parties confirmed on Friday that Sasol once again reaffirmed their continued commitment as the longest-standing sponsor of women’s football in South Africa, spanning over 16 years.

“We are delighted with SASOL’s renewal of the South African senior women’s national team premier partnership to continue the legacy of growing women’s football until 2029,” said SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao via a statement, as per safa.net.

“SASOL Banyana Banyana® will continue to bear the SASOL logo in training and travel uniforms as they charter their way back to the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco and the drive to qualify for the FIFA 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

“This announcement is also a symbol of faith in SAFA’s properties for corporate South Africa when they look for access to their consumers and fans as football is not only the biggest sport in South Africa, but also balanced in gender as both men and women love the teams equally.”

Sasol echoed the governing body’s sentiments as they look to continue developing and elevating women’s football in the country.

“As a proudly South African company, we are honoured to continue this impactful partnership, one that has consistently elevated women’s football and empowered athletes to pursue their dreams on the world’s biggest stages,” added Grace Nndwammbi, Sasol’s Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs.

“Our long-term vision is to keep championing the advancement of women, with football as a powerful platform for empowerment, visibility, and lasting impact.

“Sasol has proudly supported Banyana Banyana since 2009, a period marked by extraordinary achievements. These include multiple COSAFA Cup titles, qualification for two Olympic Games, their first-ever appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019, a historic knockout stage appearance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the WAFCON championship title in 2022, cementing Banyana Banyana’s place in South Africa’s sporting history.”
