Ouaddou – 90 Minutes Is a Lot To Come Back

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is confident that they can score many goals to stage a comeback against FC Saint-Eloi Lupopo.

The Buccaneers will face off against the DR Congo outfit on Saturday in the second leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round at Orlando Stadium.

Lupopo thumped Pirates 3-0 in the first leg last week at the Stade de la Victoire in Lubumbashi.

To win the match within regulation time, Pirates must win by a four-goal margin, ideally keeping a clean sheet to deny the opponents the crucial away goal advantage.

Recalling their MTN8 final performance where they scored three goals in just 15 minutes, Ouaddou asserted that the team has the ability to stage comeback.

“Firstly, it’s very important to work psychologically with the players, making them understand,” said Abdeslam Ouaddou.

“They know that it’s definitely possible to go through the stage. The challenge is to be ambitious in that game.

“At the same time, we have to keep the right balance, not to concede. But it’s very important for us to go there with a lot of ambitions in order to score.

“But I believe that the environment will be okay for us, for the players and the support of our fans will be crucial.

“I just remember that in 15 minutes of the MTN8, we were able to score three goals. So, 90 minutes is a lot of time to come back.”
