Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has lauded striker Yanela Mbuthuma following his brace that sunk Golden Arrows.
The Buccaneers secured a 3-1 away victory over Abafana Bes’thende in the Betway Premiership at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Mbuthuma, who missed a crucial penalty when his side got eliminated from the CAF Champions League by St Eloi Lupopo, bounced back with two strikes against the KZN outfit.
Ouaddou praised Mbuthuma’s dedication, stating the striker “gives his best always”whenever he is called upon to deliver for the team.
“Look, I just want to talk about the performance of the boy today,” said Ouaddou
“I don’t want to go back to that game [against Lupopo]. What I can tell you is, he is in a good shape and good spirit.
“Every time we call him, he gives his best for the team, he gives his best for our club. And it’s what we’re expecting from all our players.
“When they are on the pitch, when we give them a chance to perform, they have to show it and it’s what we want for the club.
“So, well done for him, we need to keep working and to believe.”
Mbuthuma, who joined the Soweto giants from Richards Bay FC before the current season began, has now scored a total of four goals in seven matches across all competitions.
