After recovering from injury, Bafana Bafana defender Ime Okon marked his comeback in style, finding the net for Hannover 96 despite a 3-2 defeat to Darmstadt.
It was Matchday 12 in the Bundesliga 2, coming just before the FIFA international break scheduled for next week.
Okon, making his first appearance after an injury layoff, found the back of the net to equalise after Darmstadt’s Killian Corredor had put the visitors ahead.
However, Hannover couldn’t capitalise on their home advantage, falling to a defeat as the visitors walked away with all three points. Okon’s side now sits fifth in the league table with 21 points from 12 matches.

Okon had been sidelined for Hannover’s last five matches after picking up an injury in their 3-1 win over Arminia Bielefeld on September 28.
As a result, the 21-year-old centre-back was left out of Hugo Broos’ 23-man squad for the crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Rwanda in October.
He will also miss out on the upcoming international friendly against Zambia, scheduled for 14 November at the Nelson Mandela Stadium.
The former SuperSport United defender will be hoping to earn a place in the squad for the AFCON tournament set to take place in Morocco next month.
