Amajimbos World Cup Opponents Revealed

Vela Khumalo’s Amajimbos team have been drawn against Japan in the Round of 32 at the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar.

With all group games coming to an end on Tuesday, South Africa, who finished second in group A, were entered in the draw as the 11th-seeded second-placed side. Japan were the winners of Group B and seeded 10th amongst the winners.

Nine African teams have qualified for the Round of 32, which kicks off on Friday, with Morocco coming from Japan’s group.

They lost 2-0 to Japan, 6-0 to Portugal but qualified as one of the best third-placed teams after beating New Caledonia 16-0 – a new record win at this level. Meanwhile, Japan somewhat surprisingly only drew 0-0 with New Caledonia but beat Portugal 2-1 to top Group B.
