Mhango – The Toughest Defenders I’ve Faced In SA

Richards Bay FC striker Gabadinho Mhango has mentioned defenders who gave him a tough time.

Mango arrived in South Africa back in 2013/14 season when he joined Bloemfontein Celtic from Malawi giants Big Bullets FC. Since his arrival, the 33-year-old has played over 290 games scoring close to 85 goals.

In all that he has faced different defenders across the continent as he played CAF Champions League also. But Happy Jele, Musa Bilankulu, Bevan Fransman, Morgan Gould and Tefu Mashamaite stood out for him as ones that gave him a tough time.

“There’s a lot of defenders that have troubled me. Some have retired; some give me a tough time even in training. I’d say people like Happy Jele, Bevan Fransman, Musa Bilankulu, Tefu Mashamaite and Morgan Gould. There’s a lot of players that have given me a tough time, but at the end of the day, it’s football; you have to face challenges,” Mango told iDiski Times

“But I think I also enjoy challenges; the more you become tougher, the more you grow, and you get to know this is how I approach the game. There’s more players than those I mentioned that have given me a tough time. I think them challenging me has made me to grow because if it was easy, when you get things easier, it’s easy to let them go, but if you get them hard, you keep them for too long.”
