Bafana Bafana midfielder Sipho Mbule says head coach Hugo Broos emphasized the importance of his charges winning their friendly international against Zambia before the match got underway.
South Africa put in another dominant display as they overpowered Chipolopolo 3-1 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday afternoon.
Oswin Appollis, Mohau Nkota and Sphephelo Sithole all recorded their names on the scoresheet, but it was the ‘Master Chef’ who became the centre of attention with his brace of assists and being named the Man of the Match on the day.
“Before this game, the coach told us there’s no friendly, he wants us to prepare for AFCON ” he said on SABC Sport.
“He said we must give our all and I think that’s what everybody did today.
“And I’m very much happy to be back in the national team.
“Obviously, we wanna be great at the AFCON as you saw last AFCON, the gents went through it all and then they came out in third position.
“I think now, it’s a matter of going all out because I think we have the players, we have the coach, and we have the team to be able to do so.”
