The organisers of the 2025 Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup have announced that the Cup will be shared by this year’s finalists AmaZulu FC and Nsingizini Hotspurs after the final could not play on Sunday afternoon.
A short statement on the Cup’s X Page read; “The 2025 Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup will be shared between the two finalists, AmaZulu FC and Nsingizini Hotspurs.
“After careful examination of the weather and pitch conditions, the decision was taken with full consideration of all stakeholders.”
Usuthu had come from behind to defeat former champions Njamela FC 2-1 in the first semi-final earlier in the day with Tebogo Mashigo and Elmo Kambindu on the score sheet for the Betway Premiership side.
Meanwhile defending Eswatini Premier League champions overcame Richards Bay on penalties in the second semi-final.
Spurs won the shout 6-5 knocking out the Natal rich boys who were a replacement for Kaizer Chiefs in the competition that serves to honour the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
Chiefs withdrew from the tournament owing to a busy schedule that includes the CAF Confederation Cup group stage that starts later this month.
