Phakamani Mahlambi has been given a new lifeline after he was spotted training with TS Galaxy, where he could link up with his younger brother Seluleko Mahlambi.
After a prolonged period without a club, the former Bidvest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns attacker had initially been given a lifeline, training for several weeks with Durban City.
Mahlambi last played professional football in September 2021 during his time with Chippa United, who were, at the time, led by the current City coach Gavin Hunt.
He was given the opportunity to train with City by Hunt, who had also offered him his professional debut at Bidvest Wits in the 2015/16 season, but ultimately the KwaZulu-Natal-based club opted against signing him.
However, Mahlambi has now been given a new lifeline by TS Galaxy, with head coach Adnan Beganovic revealing the Rockets are ready to give him a second chance.

“Amazing player, amazing skills,” Beganovic said.
“We made the decision with the chairman, he asked if we want to try to push him, if we want to try to bring him back on the business.
“I think he deserves a second chance and we are happy to maybe to do, it’s on him – everything is on him. He needs to proof, he needs to push. But I think what I saw until last, the last five training sessions, he tries, he pushes himself.
“But give him time to show, I know it’s not easy, you fight every day. One month you have everything, you play for the biggest club in Africa, not just in the country and then you lose everything, you are on the bottom.
“It’s not about how many times you fall down, it’s only about you want to stand up and fight again, for something that you actually deserve, what you had and lost.
“He deserves second chance, hopefully he grow improve in the physical part and then tactically and then maybe he can [help us].”
