Chiefs Seek Another Win, Pirates Out To Bounce Back

Kaizer Chiefs are targeting back-to-back wins when they travel to the Eastern Cape to take on Chippa United while Orlando Pirates aim to bounce back when they lock horns with wounded Richards Bay in Saturday’s DStv Diski Challenge fixtures.

The defending champions come from a morale boosting 2-0 win over Pirates in the Soweto Derby but are also up against an improved Chilli Boys side who’ve collected four wins in 11 matches this season.

The Buccaneers on the other hand will quickly want to put their derby defeat behind them and extend their lead at the top when they welcome the Natal Rich Boyz at the UJ Soweto Campus. Bucs are two points clear at the top, while Bay is sitting in fifth place with 18 points, seven points behind Pirates.

At the Tuks Stadium, Mamelodi Sundowns will go toe-to-toe against Polokwane City who have just parted ways with coach Brice Aka. Sundowns decreased the gap to two points last weekend and aim to keep pressure on Pirates. Rise and Shine have already caused a huge upset this season when they beat Pirates 2-1 and will be hoping for another scalp against Masandawana.

An exciting match-up between Stellenbosch FC and Magesi FC at Seshego Stadium will witness two teams known for their impressive skills and determination. The Young Maroons are seemingly struggling this season as they are six points behind Pirates having already suffered four defeats, which is one game closer to last season’s entire losses. Young Dikwena Tsa Meetsi have improved drastically after collecting 13 points in 11 games just six points less than last season.

Dark horses Siwelele FC have a tricky trip to KwaZulu-Natal where they will face AmaZulu FC. Siwelele only lost two games this season and are six points behind the Buccaneers while Usuthu on the other hand aim to return to winning ways as they aim to halt Siwelele’s title hopes.
