Siwelele FC head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has openly acknowledged the realistic expectations placed on his side this season.
The club is competing in its first campaign under the new Siwelele identity after purchasing SuperSport United’s Premiership status and relocating to Bloemfontein.

Their debut season has been inconsistent, with the team currently sitting 12th on the log with 14 points from four wins, seven defeats, and two draws.
Seema admits the squad they inherited from SuperSport had not been accustomed to winning over the past two years due to Matsatsantsa’s struggles.
As a result, he says their main focus this season is simply to avoid relegation and build a stronger foundation for the next campaign.
“The team that we inherited had about two years not winning games, they were struggling,” said Seema.
“We’re still trying to take that mentality out and for us to take it out, we will win games, and we will lose some.
“But that makes us vulnerable because everybody is targeting us. And we know that we don’t have the team that we want to have come next season.
“We gonna be a different team altogether and we want to make sure that we fight relegation. What I’m trying to say is we wanna make sure that we stay in this league so we can have a team next season, and we start preparing well for that season.
“This is gonna be a long season and hard one and this [defeat] is the type of results we will get. But there are a lot of positives. Every game, we are fighting for our lives.
“I’m sure teams were thinking they’d get points easily from us, but we surprised them because we’re not giving up.”
