Orlando Pirates winger Deon Hotto has described his combination with Relebohile Mofokeng as ‘something beautiful’ following their hard-fought win over Chippa United eSgodini.
The 35-year-old Namibian international produced a man of the match performance including an assist for Evidence Makgopa for the opener in the 74th minute before another substitute Oswin Appollis netted in the 94th minute to all but secure the much-needed maximum points.
Speaking to SuperSport TV after the match, Hotto attributed his combination with Rele down to their understanding over the years.
“Something beautiful! he said.
“The combination between me and Rele, it’s a combination that comes a long way for three seasons.
“So, I know already if he has the ball where to put the ball. I don’t need to call for the ball where I want to get the ball.”
The former Bidvest Wits speedster also took time to thank the management in the acquisition of new players who have added value to the squad.
“You know, we just thank the technical team and our managers for bringing in these quality players,” he added.
“And that’s what we want.”
The win sees the Buccaneers move level on points (25) with Betway Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns with a match to spare.
