Hlungwani Delivers Verdict On Zamalek’s Disallowed Goal Against Chiefs

Former PSL referee Victor Hlungwani has applauded Rwandan referee Samuel Uykunda for his bravery in disallowing Zamalek a goal following what he deemed as a foul on Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel.

The White Knights lodged a formal complaint to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after the clash arguing that their goal by Seifeddine Jaziri, which was disallowed, should have been permitted to stand.

Hlungwani has since dissected the incident saying Uykunda acted in the correct manner because an offence was committed as Jaziri used his hand to push Miguel.

“There’s a push [on Miguel], and when you push an opponent from behind which causes a player to fall, an offence has been committed,” ‘The Principal’ said on Soccerzone.

“Referee in close proximity blew the whistle for a push.

“So, correct decision by the referee to blow for a push.”
