Orlando Pirates winger Oswin Appollis says talks around him being an early contender for this campaign’s Player of the Season is something he doesn’t focus on.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start in his first season at Pirates with an 11 goal contributions for the Buccaneers, inclusive of five goals and six assists across all competition so far.
Ahead of the Carling Knockout Cup final against Marumo Gallants this weekend, the South African international brushed the sentiments off saying what’s important for him is helping his club.
“My job always has been you know helping the team,” said Appollis when asked about the Player of the Season debate.
“And scoring goals, the other things I don’t focus on that. My job is to do well, help the team to win and that’s what I’m focusing on.”
