Marumo Gallants coach Alexandre Lafitte says they understand that if they want to win the trophy, they have to sweep away all big clubs they come across.
Babina Noko will take on rampant Orlando Pirates in the Carling Knockout Cup final set to take place on Saturday at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Leading up to the final, the Bloemfontein-based side knocked out Mamelodi Sundowns in the first round, Stellenbosch in the quarterfinal and Golden Arrows in the semifinal.
Lafitte says “it’s normal” to face a tough challenge if you want to win a trophy as a lowly side like Gallants.
“Yeah, I see it’s a big challenge [to face Pirates] but when you are in the final, and you want to win the cup, you need to beat all big teams,” said Lafitte.
“We have eliminated Sundowns, Stellenbosch and Golden Arrows. So, it’s normal, if you want to win the cup, you need to beat big teams.
“It’s a big challenge, Pirates are very good team and a very important club in Africa. But at the moment, we are very concentrated.”
