Bafana Bafana legend Doctor Khumalo has explained what makes Sipho Mbule stand out from the rest.
The Orlando Pirates star is currently with Bafana Bafana in Morocco and is expected to play a key number 10 role, with Relebohile Mofokeng also an option in that position.
Mbule recently returned to the national team after Themba Zwane was sidelined by injury, while Patrick Maswanganyi also struggled with injuries and a dip in form.
According to Khumalo, Mbule has the qualities needed to be Bafana’s playmaker, highlighting his natural ability and saying his talent cannot be coached because it comes from within.
“Sipho did raise his hand to say I take this position 10, he proved it against Ghana,” Khumalo told 10bet Podcast.
“That’s the reason why I’ll say players like Sipho, you can’t coach him or tell him what to do, no you can’t.
“Can you coach him that if you get close to the box, shoot? No, it’s natural, it’s a natural talent.
“If he wants to make a 1, 2 move, you can’t say control with right and pass with left.
“Sometimes, he gets the ball, he does a backheel and gets it on the other side, it’s something that you can’t coach, it’s in him.”
