Done Deal: Sundowns Sign Colombian Striker

Mamelodi Sundowns have spent over $3.2 million to sign Colombian striker Brayan León as first signing of the January transfer window.

The news of León’s move from Independiente Medellín were first broken by Fabrizio Romano, with sources confirming the move to this publication.

León’s transfer is understood to include a sell-on clause, with the player set to sign a three-year deal with an option, as per Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra.

The 25-year-old striker scored 13 goals and set up 11 more for Medellin last season, and has netted 33 times with 17 assists across 118 games overall.

Sundowns become Leon’s fourth professional club after Pereira, Junior FC and Indep. Medellín.

He becomes Masandawana’s first January signing, as the reigning champions are aiming to overtake Orlando Pirates in the second half of the Betway Premiership.
