Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper coach Kennedy Mweene has refused to waver on the team’s CAF Champions League and Betway Premiership chances, despite their uncharacteristic start.
The Brazilians didn’t start as strongly as they usually do, especially in the league, where a high-flying Orlando Pirates top the table with two points ahead and a game in hand.

The Yellow Nation has voiced concerns over the team’s performances, which have looked far from promising as they chase a ninth consecutive league title.
Mweene expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to thrive under pressure, citing their enduring hunger for trophies.
He emphasised that their collective experience is a vital asset as they compete for every trophy on offer this season.
“One thing I am certain of is that there is always a hunger to win, and the Club knows how to perform under pressure,” Mweene told Sundowns Magazine.
“That mentality has been built over years of hard work and success. As a coach, I know we are prepared for high-stakes moments in both the league and the CAF Champions League.
“The squad has the experience, depth and focus to compete on all fronts. I am confident the team will continue to grow, deliver strong performances and challenge for titles throughout the season.”
