iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye believes that Mamelodi Sundowns have found a solution for their number 10 problem in promising talent Kutlwano Letlhaku.
Letlhaku a development product of their development ranks was promoted to the first team at the start of last season and played in every major competition for Sundowns while also forming an integral part of the national U20 side.
The 19 year old started in Sundowns’ 2-0 win over Orbit College in the league on Monday night, a result that saw the defending champions go top of the log with 29 points.
However Letlhaku lasted 61 minutes. Khanye is of the opinion the youngster should have played longer because of his qualities and especially because he hasn’t been played a lot this season.
“There was balance in their midfield today and I don’t understand why the coach subbed Kutlwano Letlhaku, like you are damaging him,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.
“I understand there are experienced players like Mshishi [Themba Zwane] and others that he brought in but sometimes don’t fix what’s not broken.
“These players are not playing, if he was a player that plays regularly week in and week out I’d say it’s good for the coach to reserve the boy. But this boy Kutlwano with his quality doesn’t play regularly.
“They need a player in the number 10 position he is a good fit for that. He gave them something special, he brought in a different dimension and he brought creativity. He’d take someone on, play one-two, ran behind the defense, he creates chances, he can be a team player, what do you want?”
