Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso says his side are excited to be playing CAF Champions League football again and know what lies ahead as they get ready to face Sudan’s Al Hilal.
The two sides meet in a top of Group C clash at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Friday night (20:00), tied on four points after two matches with the hosts in pole position because of a healthier goal difference. Â
Cardoso said at the pre-match press conference on Thursday that though the stakes aren’t so high he  is expecting a competitive match from what he called a team with a lot of resources. Â
“Great competition ahead, we’re back on Champions League, third match out of six, nothing will be decided,” said Cardoso.
“Obviously a good result from our side gives us a good position in the competition. Big respect for the team of Al Hilal, it’s a team with a lot of resources.
“Just take a look on how many players they have in the national team. So we know the responsibility of this match.
“We know how the opponent plays, what they can do, but we know very, very well what we can do, what we want, the capacity we have, and how we have to approach the match with the responsibility, obviously of it.
“But with the same level of motivation, of power, of energy, of will, of desire, of commitment and following the plan of the game to the end so that we approach it, obviously more from the result we want. A match of details, let’s pay attention to them so that we can be successful.”
