Official: Former Chiefs Winger Lands New Club

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC winger Kgaogelo Sekgota has joined Siwele FC.

This publication reported earlier this month that Lehlohonolo Seema had invited Sekgota in a bid to offer him a new lifeline.

The former Chiefs winger was released by Stellenbosch FC in 2023 following an off-the-field issue and since then he barely spent six months in a club.

He joined Magesi in the beginning of last season but he was released just five months after joining the club. In April last year, he joined Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City but only stayed there for less than four months before he was released again.

He has been without a professional team since July 2025 but kept himself fit, as he played in the ABC Motsepe League with the aim of bouncing back to top flight.

He has now a chance to for another lease on pro football as Siwelele unveiled him before they continue their Betway Premiership on 23 January when they will face Richards Bay.
