Mamelodi Sundowns have re-visited their interest of Cape Town City striker Jody Ah Shene, with a deal understood to be close.
This publication reported at the beginning of the season that Sundowns were close to concluding a deal with CT City for Ah Shene, but the move failed to materialize in the last minute.
Information received states that Sundowns are again pushing hard to get Ah Shene – in the previous window both clubs had reached an agreement but personal terms were not agreed. Downs hope things work out this time around but time is not on their side, with the PSL window closing on Thursday.
Ah Shene was left-out of the Cape Town City squad that beat Pretoria University 4-0 at the Athlone Stadium on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old recently represented South Africa’s U20 at the FIFA U20 World Cup and won the top goalscorer award at the COSAFA U20 tournament, while also playing a huge role when Amajita won the U20 AFCON.
He has been good for CT City as well, netting important goals as they continue to fight for their promotion to the Betway Premiership.
