Kaizer Chiefs coach Khalil Ben Youssef has complimented the midfield duo of Lehogang Maboe and Siphesihle Ndlovu saying it has given the side stability and technical quality.
The two put in a good shift to help Chiefs defeat Al Masry 2-1 in the CAF Confederation Cup at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday with the duo marshalling the Amakhosi midfield where they have suffered just one loss so far.
Speaking after the game against the Egyptian side, Youssef also explained that when the technical team make changes that affect the two it’s because of player management to avoid injuries with the schedule they are enduring.
“I think with Maboe and Ndlovu they give us a lot of stability,” said Youssef.
“The last few games if we changed Maboe or Ndlovu, just to manage them because it was a big risk of injury for them. So, I have to manage the load for them. And we know midfielder it’s always the first player to do a lot of sprint, lot of distance, so I have to manage them. When we finished before the break, I think it was Maboe and George Matlou. Also, they gave us a lot of stability.
“To be honest we have a great squad. We have different quality of midfielder. Playing Ndlovu and Maboe give us a lot of technical quality, lot of stability inside. Some players they give us more physical quality and every game we’re managing, each game dependent on the load, dependent on the physical situation of the player and also dependent of the opponent.”
