Khanye Makes Bold Chiefs Prediction

iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye has made a bold prediction that Kaizer Chiefs will not qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup quarters despite topping the group.

Amakhosi defeated Al Masry 2-1 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday to go top of Group D with 10 points, two points from second placed Zamalek who they meet in the group decider next week.

Amakhosi only need a draw to progress to the knockout phase while a loss and an unfavourable result in the match between Al Masry and Zambia’s ZESCO United could see them knocked out of the competition.

Khanye says there are a lot of factors that will contribute to the game in North Africa that will not favour Chiefs.

“For me it’s going to be difficult,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.

“Kaizer Chiefs will go there for a draw, it’s going to be difficult, they won’t get it. Zamalek are going to win at home.

“I know Chiefs have two extra goal advantage and ZESCO won’t hurt Al Masry in Egypt. Al Masry and Zamalek are going to the quarter-finals. Al Masry must score two goals.

“I wasn’t convinced by Kaizer Chiefs today [Sunday], but we congratulate them for winning. And going away is going to be difficult, I’m talking about the treatment, and they will be playing against the referee.

“ZESCO has nothing to lose, so ask yourself with ZESCO going to Al Masry a very good side what will happen.”
