Junior, Tso Predict Chiefs & Downs’ CAF Clashes

IDiski TV analysts Junior Khanye and Benedict Tso Vilakazi have given their predictions for the deciding group CAF intercontinental matches involving Kaizer Chefs and Mamelodi Sundowns in the Confederation Cup and Champions League, respectively on Saturday.

Chiefs are away at Zamalek in a deciding Group D clash of the Confed Cup, needing a draw to advance. Only two points separate Amakhosi and the Egyptian side in the group with Amakhosi at the top of the table with 10 points and needing to avoid a loss at all cost, with third-placed Al Masry expected to beat ZESCO United.

For Khanye, despite being in a commanding position to go through, his former side will crash out of the competition by losing with more than a goal.

“Chiefs will lose 2-0 or more than 2-0,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.

“I think it’s going to be difficult for Chiefs to defend for 90 minutes. I don’t see Chiefs dominating that game.

“Yes they will have those couple of chances but Zamalek are very strong if I have to compare them with Chiefs. It’s going to be very difficult and Chiefs know it’s a mountain to climb though they have points in the bag.

“They are in the driving seat but they are playing away and Zamalek know it’s a break it or make it they will want to get a goal.”

Meanwhile Tso who hasn’t been convinced by the type of football played by the Glamour Boys sees them qualifying for the second round with a draw.

“I’m putting my head on the block Amakhosi will come back with a point,” said Tso.

“With Chefs even when love is blind there are some signs that you can say sometimes this works. Amakhosi they have been playing their own type of football.

“I don’t understand the type of football that they are playing, I don’t like it, I don’t love it. It drives me crazy but come 90 minutes they get points.”

On the other hand in the Champions League, Sundowns are hosting their former coach Rulani Mokwena and MC Alger in Group C, needing nothing less than a win to progress. The 2016 champions are third in their group with six points, a point behind the Algerian side above them.

Khanye believes home ground advantage will work for Miguel Cardoso and his charges and they will scrap their way into the second round.

“Sundowns are going to win 1-0,” added the former South African junior international.

“It’s going to be a scrappy game because of the tactics that might delay Rulani. Sundowns are not themselves anymore, they have lost identity but I see them getting a 1-0 score-line because they are playing at home.

But for Tso, his former side is going to be eliminated.

“It’s sad what I’m going to say now,” added Tso.

“I always say love is blind and you know I love Sundowns and obviously when Sundowns wins I’m always going to be happy. But I see Sundowns losing this game 1-0.”
