Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef has explained why Ethan Chislett was finally selected in the starting XI to make his debut for the club.
Chislett, 27, moved to Naturena ahead of the season, joining the club from the United Kingdom much to the excitement of the club’s fans.
However, he has found game-time hard to come by and hadn’t made his official debut for the club – until the Chiefs coach decided to pick him against Stellies.
“We’re dealing with plus 30 players, so they are fighting in the training session and it’s our job as technical staff to decide who is the right squad for each game,” Ben Youssef said on SuperSport TV.
“Ethan is now ready to compete and fight he’s been working hard in training, we think now is the time to introduce and start Ethan and we hope he will have a good performance today and help the team.”
Chiefs, who could move back into third spot on Tuesday evening, will be out for revenge after Gavin Hunt’s side eliminated them from the Nedbank Cup a few weeks ago.
Amakhosi are unbeaten in their last nine league games, winning four, with their last Betway defeat coming in September against Sekhukhune United.
