Lorch & Lakay Continue To Shine, SA Star In MLS Sent Off

Thembinkosi Lorch delivered a goal contribution for Al Ittihad in Libya, while Fagrie Lakay also laid on an assist to secure a point for Cerimica Cleopatra.

Lorch seems to not be taking long to settle in Libya, as he grabbed an assist in Al Ittihad’s 2-0 win over Abelashhar. The former Wydad AC winger laid an assist to Mouad Issa in the 59th minute with Al Ittihad remaining top of the league table with 28 points after 10 games, six points clear at the top.

In Egypt, Cleopatra’s wheels seem to be coming off as they have gone three matches without a win. Lakay managed an assist to Ayman Moka in the 92nd minute to secure a point against Wadi Delga. This assist took Lakay’s goal contribution tally to six in the last seven matches in all competitions. Cleopatra remains in fourth place, three points behind league leaders Zamalek SC.

The South African-born midfielder didn’t start the game well, as he was booked in the 23rd minute after committing a foul. In England, Lyle Foster logged 45 minutes as his side, Burnley fell 4-3 to Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.

In Germany, Ime Okon completed the full match as Hannover 96 secured a 1-0 victory over Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga 2.

In Belgium, Shandre Campbell was an unused substitute as Club Brugge edged Charleroi 2-1.

In the USA MLS, Mbekezeli Mbokazi played his part in Chicago Fire’s 3-0 clean-sheet win over CF Montreal, while compatriot Puso Dithejane remained on the bench. Elsewhere, Bongokuhle Hlongwane went the distance in Minnesota United’s 1-0 triumph against FC Cincinnati. 

In Saudi Arabia, Mohau Nkota featured for 30 minutes as Al Ettifaq lost 3-1 to Al Hazem. Elias Mokwana was not included in the matchday squad.
