Junior On Two Strikers For Pirates Next Season

iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye has urged Orlando Pirates to bring back Tshegofatso Mabasa from his loan stint and sign Ceramica Cleopatra striker Fagrie Lakay.

Mabasa was shipped off to Stellenbosch FC on a season-long loan deal while Pirates cashed in on Andre De Jong who went in the opposite opposite direction.

The 29-year-old Bucs marksman fell out of favour at the Buccaneers under Abdeslam Ouaddou this campaign. He has, however, had a good start at the Cape Winelands outfit netting two goals in seven matches.

Lakay has been in superb form at the Egyptian club making 19 league appearances and scoring five goals, while contributing with four assists as they sit in fourth place two points shy of log leaders Zamalek SC on 40 points.

Khanye reckons that Pirates are not as clinical enough in front of goal and that Mabasa’s return will aid them unlock opposition defence while the addition of Lakay will help them in the CAF Champions League.

“Put in a letter through to Stellenbosch three months before the season ends and tell them we want Mabasa back,” he said on iDiski TV.

“So that they can avoid what happened against Polokwane City [struggling to score and leaving it late].

“You bring Fagrie Lakay. I mean the one that’s in Egypt, so that they can be able to compete in the Champions League.”
