The Bees Move Out Of Relegation

The Bees ended their three-match losing streak after rallying back to beat Highbury FC 2-1 while Black Leopards winless’ run extended to 11 matches.

It was a weekend of goals drought when it comes to goals in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after nine goals scored in six games.

Milford FC, Cape Town City, Casric Stars and Pretoria University where not in action this past weekend due to Nedbank Cup commitments.

Leicesterford City played to a 1-1 draw against title challengers Kruger United at home. Kgodiso Monama opened the scoring for Leicersterford before Ebraheem Seedat equalized in the 56th minute.

Midlands Wanderers continue to fight for themselves as they managed to get a draw against struggling Black Leopards.

Upington City’s early goal from Given Khuphe was cancelled by 73rd minute equaliser by Gomora United which secured a point for them.

Venda FC shared the spoils with Baroka FC in a goalless draw. Bakgakga remained in 15th place, three points above safety.

The Bees are the only side that managed to get maximum points this weekend after defeating Eastern Cape based side Highbury FC.

Highbury opened the scoring in the 31st minute through Onyekachi Onongbu. Siphesihle Buthelezi scored the equalizer in the 53rd minute for The Bees before Sicelo Masilela scoring a winner in the 69th minute.

Cape Town City will face Milford FC on Tuesday afternoon at Athlone Stadium and on Wednesday, Casric Stars will battle with Pretoria University.
