Milford FC head coach Xanti Pupuma is relishing the possibility of a final against fellow Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars in the Nedbank Cup.
The two clubs are the only lower division sides left in the David vs Goliath themed tournament after edging Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu respectively in the quarterfinals this past weekend.
Milford took their encounter to extra time and a penalty shootout where they prevailed 3-2 at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Milford and Casric are also still in contention to the premier division currently sitting in number two (36 points) and fourth places (34 points) after 19 matches respectively on the MFC log.
They will find out this Monday evening who they are pitted with in the cup semi-final in a draw that will also include TS Galaxy and Durban City.
“What would be great, it would be for Casric and Milford to play the final,” said Pupuma.
“That would be nice. I don’t know if the stadium will be full but at least, you’d have two MFC teams knocking it out in a PSL final.
“That would be nice.
“But at this stage we really appreciate to be where we are it doesn’t really matter who comes.
“Whoever comes we will give them the same respect that we gave Sekhukhune and try and apply ourselves as much as possible, stick to how we play and enjoy the game.”
