Simba SC head coach Steve Barker has been named February Coach of the Month, bagging his first award since joining the club from Stellenbosch FC.
Simba SC played three games in February and managed to win two of those games and one ended as a draw.
The good run saw Simba moving to fourth place, nine points behind league leaders Young Africans but have two games in hand.
Barker’s side managed to score four goals in the three games they played, beating KMC by 2-0 and Tanzania Prisons by 2-0 – both games were away before playing a goalless draw against Dodoma Jiji FC.
Simba hasn’t lost a league match since Barker took over in December, a good run of six games where they won three and drew three.
Barker seems to be settling now despite being knocked out of the CAF Champions League.
Simba return to action on Thursday when they will travel to fifth-placed Pamba.
