Dladla On Where Chiefs Have Been ‘Unfortunate’

Durban City interim coach Pitso Dladla has pointed out where Kaizer Chiefs have been “unfortunate”, as the team has come under fire after losing four games in a row.

The KZN side were beaten 1-0 by Amakhosi in a Betway Premiership match last Sunday at FNB Stadium, with the Soweto giants getting back to winning ways.

This defeat brought an end to a six-match unbeaten run for the Citizens across all competitions and marked Dladla’s first loss since taking over on an interim basis.

After the match, Dladla said Chiefs have been unpredictable in terms of team selection, as they have frequently changed their line-ups due to constant suspensions and injuries.

He believes this has been one of the key issues affecting Chiefs in recent weeks, contributing to their poor results.

“Look, honestly, the Chiefs have been so unfortunate with their injuries and suspensions,” said Dladla.

“So, with them, you couldn’t predict which line-up they were going to put for today’s game.

“I think we were surprised with the three starters. I remember [Wandile] Duba that we did not suspect him, [Ashley] Du Preez, we did not suspect them as a third player.

“But for them, also, we should be honest, there are games that they have lost where they played very well.”
