Hugo Broos has dropped 15 players from his preliminary Bafana Bafana squad, with Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine one of the big surprises.
Broos had already dropped Siyabonga Ngezana and Sipho Mbule from his preliminary selection, while the Belgian mentor also confirmed that Thapelo Morena, who had made the initial squad, has been excluded due to injury.

But there were several other players who didn’t make it, including Pirates’ Chaine, with Broos preferring Renaldo Leaner and Ricardo Goss as back-up for Ronwen Williams.
The Bafana coach also explained that Mohau Nkota was not called because he’s going through a difficult period after suffering the loss of his father recently and also dropping out of the Al-Ettifaq squad.
Iqraam Rayners, who has been in great form for Mamelodi Sundowns, has also been excluded despite scoring five goals in his last five games.
