Kaizer Chiefs and Magesi FC have announced their starting lineups for this late afternoon’s Betway Premiership match at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Mathematically, Chiefs are still contenders in the title race, although their recent performance has been underwhelming; however, they bounced back from a three-match losing streak with a win against Durban City at the FNB Stadium last week.
Sitting in fifth place, Chiefs trail league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by 17 points and are now fighting for a spot in the CAF inter-club competition, making a win today crucial to keeping their hopes alive.
In contrast, Magesi, who sit at the bottom of the league table with 14 points after 20 games, have yet to win in their last 12 matches.
A recent draw against Chippa United may provide some inspiration for Magesi today.
Historically, the two teams have met twice, with Amakhosi winning one and drawing the other.
