Stellenbosch FC are confronting a significant challenge as they risk losing midfielder Ibraheem Jabaar on a free transfer when his contract expires.
Jabaar rejoined Stellenbosch in July 2024 following a season-long loan in Israel with Maccabi Petah Tikva.
Upon his return, he participated in 41 games across all competitions, scoring one goal, and subsequently earned the Oswin Andries Young Player of the Season (U23) award.
The 23-year-old continued his impressive form into the current season, earning two man-of-the-match awards and making 28 appearances with two goals in all competitions.
According to information obtained by iDiski Times, Jabaar’s contract is set to conclude at the end of the season, allowing him to negotiate pre-contracts with other clubs.
Nonetheless, Stellenbosch remain committed to retaining the midfielder. Additionally, Thabo Moloisane’s contract status raises concerns, as he is yet to sign a new deal and could also depart on a free transfer.
