Doc On Adams’ Bafana Return

Bafana Bafana legend Doctor Khumalo has applauded the return of Jayden Adams in the national team and how the player has elevated his game.

Adams is part of the Bafana side currently preparing for the two international friendlies against Panama this month.

It’s the midfielder’s first time in the squad in a year after being previously dropped due to alleged disciplinary issues, subsequently missed out on the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco.

The 24-year-old also returns to the squad at a time he’s also on top form at his club.

Speaking on the DNA Podcast, the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder said Adams is playing like he has a point to prove.

“To be honest and precise we need to give this boy an applause because he was taken out of the squad,” said Khumalo.

“He was not playing at Sundowns and when he got a chance, listen, it’s like he’s saying ‘I don’t think you understand who am I, now let me show you’.

“He’ll hit you with an amazing pass you can only stop it in your heart. It will move right past you; your foot won’t even move.

“No doubt he’s one of the best players right now. I do not dispute that. We can all see it. He’s good.

“He goes by his business quietly, you’ll be woken up by one of his champagne passes. He’s commanding the midfield at Sundowns he even benches [Marcelo] Allende.”
