Ronza Issues Warning About Panama

Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams has warned his charges to thread very carefully against Panama who can punish opponents when granted chances.

The two sides face off in a first of two international friendlies at the Moses Mabhida Stadium this evening with the second meeting to be staged at DHL Stadium in Cape Town.

For the 2026 FIFA World Cup, South Africa has been pitted against co-hosts Mexico, South Korea and the UEFA Path D winner in Group A between Denmark or Czech Republic.

Panama on the other hand, square up against Croatia, England and Ghana in Group L.

Williams has warned Bafana not to give chances to the Central American opponents who are capable of punishing you.

“We have analysed them, we have watched some video clips, and we have familiarised ourselves about them,” he said according to safa.net.

“They are a team we have to take seriously because they do not need a lot of chances to punish you, and that is what we saw in their last World Cup qualifier.”

The clash at 2010 FIFA World Cup venue gets underway at 19:00.
