Chiefs Star Suffers Big Loss In International Debut

Kaizer Chiefs striker Flavio Da Silva made his international debut for Guinea-Bissau but it was a game to forget after the Wild Dogs were beaten 5-0 by Burkina Faso.

Guinea-Bissau coach Emiliano Te has called up Silva for the first time, and the Chiefs striker was handed a starting XI debut, donning the number seven shirt.

However, it was a tough outing for Silva and his teammates, as Burkina Faso ran riot. They opened the scoring after 26 minutes via Pierre Landry Kabore while Brentford winger Dango Outtare made it 2-0 after 41 minutes.

A second-half hat-trick by Moise Kabore sealed the tough day at the office for the visitors, as The Stallions got off to the perfect start under new coach Amir Abdou this Saturday in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Both teams will face each other in a second friendly match on Tuesday, 31 March.

Guinea-Bissau have won only one of their last 15 games, losing 11 games during this dire run, while Burkina Faso have won eight out of their last 11 games.

Their last defeat came at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Last 16 clash against Ivory Coast.
